Clients

The Progressive Life Center, Ghana has reached out to One thousand (1000) new Clients who consult on an individual basis, excluding the clients in group programs. 10% of the client's populations are foreign clients. Institutions that consistently refer clients to the center are: Pantang Hospital (a government psychiatric hospital), Valley View Clinic (private psychiatric hospital), The Trust Hospital (private general hospital), SOS (Orphanage), Churches, Banks and other business organizations.

Activities

Clinical Activities

Clinical Psychologists and Consultants provide clinical services to individual clients. Specific problems which are managed include:

• Addiction Problems such as substance abuse among students and adults, gambling and pornography addiction.


• Emotional Problems such as stress, anxiety disorders, depression and tension headaches. Specific problems which have been successfully managed include job stress, examination anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, career change, eviction from competition, etc.


• Behavioral Problems including antisocial behaviors, hyperactivity among children, social withdrawal, eating disorders, sleep disorders, and bedwetting.


• Abuse problems such as domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse. Both perpetrators/Batterers and the victims are seen.


• Sexual problems such as sexual dysfunctions specifically premature ejaculation as well as other related problems and sexual deviant behaviors.


• Marital problems such as premarital counseling and relationship, divorce, disappointments and communication issues.


• Learning Disabilities such as Attention deficit , mental retardation and low school performance.


• Neurological problems such as memory impairments associated with stroke and other physical illnesses.
